Biography

Erin Boykin (formerly Taylor) is a Ph.D. student in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida but is performing research through the department of Biomedical Engineering. She is a member of the Gene Dynamics Lab and works under the advisement of Dr. William Ogle and Dr. Sachin Talathi. Erin is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow as well as a UF Alumni Fellow. She was president of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Student Organization for three years and the founder of the Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering group. Having completed her B.S. in Computer Engineering at UF in 2004 and, in May 2007, her Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering, she is now completely devoted to her research. Her research focuses on the application of causality measures, such as Granger causality, on neural datasets.
